Wednesday Orientation Workshops

Every Fall and Spring semester, students in the Intensive English Program (IEP) attend a series of orientation workshops on Wednesdays. Throughout the semester, students learn about different aspects of the MSU college experience from different presenters and organizations on campus.

January: The content teacher will ask students to respond to the workshop.


January 15:  Study Habits & American Classroom Culture

This workshop will focus on ways you can become a more successful student.

Location: Engineering Building, Room 2400.     Time: 1:50 – 3:50 p.m.


January 29:  MSU Club Connection

This workshop will focus on how to get involved with various clubs on campus.

Location:  Wells Hall, B-wing 2nd floor atrium.  Time: 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.

FebruaryThe speaking/listening teacher will ask students to respond to the workshop.


Feb. 12:  Academic Honesty

This workshop will focus on important points related to plagiarism and academic honesty.

Location: Olds Hall, Room 011.     Time: 2:40-4:30 p.m.


Feb. 26:  MSU Police OR MSU Counseling Center & Olin (Choose ONE).

The workshops will take place concurrently.  The MSU Police workshop will focus on understanding laws in the U.S. and safety on campus.  The Counseling Center workshop

will focus on the resources available at the campus health and counseling centers.

Location: Wells Hall B104 / B106     Time: 2:40 – 4:30 p.m.

April: The reading teacher will ask students to respond to the workshop.

 

Thursday, April 10: Money Matters

This workshop will focus on ways to manage your credit cards / budget.

Location: 115 International Center     Time: 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.


April 16:  Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS)

This workshop will focus on important immigration regulations / procedures.

Location: Olds Hall, Room 011.     Time: 2:40-4:30 p.m.
