Arrival Schedule for Fall Semester 2016 

Residence Halls Open:                      August 20

Recommended Arrival Date:             August 25 

You are required to attend Orientation Part 1 and 2.

1) Required Orientation, Part 1: Friday August 26, 8:45am; Erickson Hall, Room 222

*You must attend orientation to get a ticket for the MSUELT. You must attend Orientation 1 & 2.

2) MSUELT (MSU English LanguageTest): Friday, August 26, 11:00 a.m.; Wells Hall B125

 *You must attend orientation to get a ticket for the MSUELT.

3) Required Orientation, Part 2: Monday, August 29; 11:30am; Wells Hall Room B102

*OISS check-in: Bring passport, I-20, I-94 card

4) Welcome Reception: Tuesday, August 30 ;1:00-2:00 p.m., Wells Hall, lawn outside Starbucks

5) Schedule Pick-up: Wednesday, August 31, 11:00-11:30 a.m.; Wells Hall A202      

Classes Begin: Wednesday, August 31, p.m. classes

Classes End:Thursday, December 8, 2016

 

 We recommend flying to Lansing.

  • Take a taxi to the MSU Campus from the Lansing Capital City Airport. Cost is about $30.00 + $6.00 tip. 
  • From Detroit, a bus service is available. Take the Michigan Flyer shuttle service from Detroit Metro Airport to East Lansing. The bus will drop you off at the Marriott Hotel East Lansing. Take a taxi from there to your residence hall.

 

Housing Information: Early Arrival: We do not recommend arriving before August 25th.

  • All residence halls of Michigan State University will be open for Fall Semester 2016 beginning Saturday, August 20, at 8:00 a.m. for new international students who have a confirmed reservation. 
  • Students arriving prior to August 20 will need to find alternate housing. Book your hotel room as far in advance as possible. There are a number of hotel options around MSU campus.
