Oral Communicative Tasks in Online Language Teaching is a fully online course designed to enable experienced university-level language instructors to take their communicative tasks to the next level in an online environment.
Course participants will identify best practices for how to execute both synchronous and asynchronous oral communicative language tasks in the presentational and interpersonal modes. Then, following a task-based language teaching (TBLT) model and following the the practices of backwards design, participants will develop scaffolded, incremental task progressions and online assessments. Participants will receive personalized feedback from the instructor and, by the end of the 4-week course, will have developed a robust online unit that they can use in their own language courses.
