On October 25th, the ELC’s Director, Dustin De Felice provided the opening address at the Ferghana State University’s 4th Annual International Scientific and Practical Conference in the Republic of Uzbekistan. This year’s conference focus was on the “current problems of modern linguistics and an innovative approach in teaching foreign language.” Dr. De Felice’s talk introduced ways for language educators to navigate new apps, technology and other innovations in language classrooms. Many attendees asked questions about the use of artificial intelligence in language classrooms as well as on this technology’s future impact on educators and learners.
Diloromhon Ismoilova, a recent visiting scholar in the ELC provided the invitation. Dilorom holds Master’s Degree in Linguistics from Fergana State University in Uzbekistan and is now an English teacher and researcher in the Department of English of the Faculty of Foreign Languages at her alma mater.
