On June 27, the English Language Center – 2024 Summer English Program students enjoyed an informative and interactive tour of the MSU Department of Police and Public Safety. Community Engagement Supervisor, Jaci Sayen, started us off with an overview, and Lieutenant Kim Parviainen introduced us to the various bureaus and divisions within the department and many of the people who keep the campus safe for us. As many of our students live on campus, having Community Liaison Coordinators Donnie Sams (South Neighborhood), Marissa Raterink (Brody Neighborhood), and Wasenka Hewage (River Trail Neighborhood) join us, as well, was an added bonus. An additional highlight was getting in some pets with Comfort Canine, River. We thank our wonderful MSU Police Department for the work they do daily and for making us feel so welcome!
