Michigan State University’s College of Arts & Letters won the 2024 Delphi Award for its Charting Pathways of Intellectual Leadership (CPIL) initiative, which promotes the inclusion and support of non-tenure-track faculty. This effort focuses on creating career pathways, leadership opportunities, professional development, salary equity, and job stability for VITAL (Visiting, Instructors, Temporary, Adjuncts, and Lecturers) faculty. Through collaboration over the past seven years, the college has enacted equitable policies that foster respect, visibility, and long-term support for non-tenure-track faculty, efforts that can be adapted by other institutions.
