For his undergraduate studies, Austin Kaufmann went to Goshen College, a liberal arts school, where he majored in secondary English education and minored in ESL. He earned his MA in TESOL from American University in Washington, DC. Austin has taught English to non-native speakers in public high schools in the U.S. and in Kyrgyzstan (with the US Peace Corps), at a private institute in Washington, DC, and in university programs in both Washington, DC, and in Seoul, South Korea. He has also taught in TESOL teacher-training programs both domestically and abroad. Austin’s professional interests include pronunciation, educational technology, curriculum development, and materials design. In addition to teaching English, Austin also serves as the ELC’s Educational Technology Coordinator and conducts online language teacher training courses with CeLTA’s Online Language Teaching Initiative. He is also a singer and guitarist the indie-folk band The Dangling Participles.
